Director of Revenue Controller
We are looking for an independent, detailed oriented Director of Revenue Accounting to join the Finance Team. The Revenue Director will be responsible for revenue recognition to SOP 97-2, including software, maintenance, professional services, hosting and on-demand services, as well as researching and ensuring compliance with policies, procedures and training associated with GAAP.
Responsibilities:
- Manage worldwide revenue recognition policies and processes in accordance with relevant accounting literature and corporate policy
- Review of contracts to ensure compliance with SOP 97-2 and related pronouncements
- Work with Legal and Sales Teams to provide suggestions and assistance for contract negotiation.
- Take the lead revenue role in monthly close, revenue reporting, reconciliations and analysis. Included in the analysis will be regular reviews of the VSOE for the Company's various products
- Manage the process for revenue recognition for Professional Services supported by Oracle Projects
- Manage the order management function
- Prepare global revenue and deferred revenue reports to support internal and external reporting requirements
- Interface with auditors related to revenue and deferred revenue
- Ensure revenue accounting policies are documented and applied consistently
Requirements:
- Experience with software revenue recognition and multiple element contracts.
- Oracle 11i experience is a plus.
- Ability to read, analyze and interpret revenue documents and contracts
- Bachelor"s degree in accounting of finance required with minimum of 7 to 10+ years of public/private accounting and operations experience
- MBA and/or CPA a plus
- SOX 404 experience
